    The Cummins (CMI +0.5%) and Westport (WPRT +1.6%) JV says LA Metro, which has one of the largest natural gas transit fleets in North America, will order 550 New Flyer Xcelsior natural gas buses, powered with the Cummins Westport ISL G 8.9-liter engine to be deployed in 2014 and 2015, with an option to purchase an additional 350 buses in 2016.

    When a company the size of Cummins places its faith in Westport and with the huge amount of gas now becoming available in the USA you can put these shares in a portfolio for the foreseeable future.

    This is the wave of the future. The other fact that is often forgotten is that N.G. (methane) is a "renewable" and can be made from agricultural and food processing waste. There are fleets now running on methane generated from cow manure.
