Interesting. This would have Canada selling oil to other parts of the world and reducing the crush on Cushing so that our prices would be higher. Good work, Obama.

The point here is likely to keep domestic costs lower. The administration is well aware that the price gap would shrink with WTI making up for the bulk of the closure with higher prices. This would push prices up domestically.

All he is doing is buying short term benefits for long term pain.

Does the current administration's over involvement in the country know no bounds?

Once again, proof that expanding drilling domestically doesn't help decrease our prices when oil is priced on int'l markets. Oil will simply be exported wherever the price is higher.
