With a healthy lead over AT&T (T) in deploying 4G services, and arguably possessing the best coverage and phone lineup of any carrier, Verizon (VZ) appears comfortable offering "luxury pricing" for its service plans. The company has to hope the additional profits produced by loyal customers outweigh any defections from price-sensitive ones.

  • There "is" a limit to what most people will pay for mobile phone services. Often the first thing to go is the family land line which is unnecessary in today's world. And let's face it most people don't know the difference between 4G, 3G, CDMA and TDMA. They are just buying the hype. So be careful big telecoms, run up the prices too much and a new "disrupter" will come along and mess up the profit party.

  • I find verzion customer service people in the stores and on the phone to be customer disservice people.
Also their policy on who they will allow to buy an iphone,( you must be 20 months into a 2 year contract to get the 2 year contract price), is enough to drive me to sprint in October. That's when sprint gets the iphone. For a hundred bucks (my termination fee), buy,buy VZ.
