I wouldn't buy a 5" phone but I do agree that Apple needs to expand it's iphone offerings.

Apple knows that the vast majority of North Americans, like you, wouldn't/won't buy their upcoming 5" iPhone unless they are already devoted customers. It's being rolled out due to overseas trends, mostly China initially, for larger screened phones than our tastes. We have multiple digital and media devices in greater quantities and qualities because we have more discretionary income than most 3rd and 2nd world people do. We also like to buy, own and use more toys. These potential customers are wanting an all-in-one device, which a larger screen attempts to satisfy. And it succeeds, if your expectations or needs are met with a 5" screen.

It'll be interesting to see AAPL take on 5" screen. Maybe they can reduce the footprint against their competitors by making the bezels even narrower.

An iWatch, that competes in the Jawbone UP and the Nike Fuelband makes perfect sense. It embraces a the Quantified Self mega trend and will take Apple into a new product category that is synergistic with its past successes in personal, UI graceful gadgets like iPods, iPhones, etc. Then if it had GPS the technology could re-purposed into countless products (kid tracking, elderly tracking, vehicle tracking (I would like to know where the bus is), dog tracking etc.

It's like the old iPod we used to configure into a watch. Others over the years have commercially attempted to modify Apple devices as watches. Apple's iWatch would be a control for all Apple devices they want you to own: iTV, Apple TV, iMac, iPod, iPad, iPhone etc as well as iOS enabled home security & monitoring systems, travel or whatever can be imagined and/or implemented. Someday people will have imbedded iOS into their brainstems a la iBrain implant. :-)

I agree that an iWatch could have some interesting possibilities. One voiced concern over the assumed Apple tv, is how could you control the tv via Siri or other voice interface, given the likely noise already in the room. An iWatch would let you place the watch close to your mouth, and then voice the command.
I like the tracking idea as well.

Einhorn is a selfish greedy already-too-rich jerk. But his "proposal" is not a proposal at all, it's a lawsuit brought against Apple to attempt to strong arm them into an idiotic position whereby he and his investors would mainly be in position to profit from. It does however serve us all, for it has generated ideas for deeper discussion amongst us, the unwashed masses (AAPL stock holders) he seeks to profit from.

Possible Next iDesign Base??

While the world worships the larger screens, Apple evolves.

Its not a watch, its a necklace. Almost the size of a pendant, and no its not a touch screen. Voice driven, the ear buds come up right off the necklace and house the microphone within them. Plans from this design incorporate a pair of bluetooth, retinal controlled glasses, which when viewed give the user the experience of sitting within a 40ft widescreen movie theater. A much larger screen with an environmental microprint.

P.S. I partially agree with AnaleezaHolder in that Einhorn's actions are greed driven only. But that greed serves no one, including shareholders. For where does it stop? Until we pop every hedge fund manager a pile of preferred stock, so they can go back to their investors and hold them up as proof theyre getting THEM a better deal? Apple's cash base is something better served for R&D, not dropping a few extra bucks on a shareholder dividend, or lining the pockets of a hedge fund manager with preferred stock. Apple's entire being is built on revolutionary technology, that not only is aesthetically pleasing, but drives technology design into areas not previously considered feasible.

The smartphone well has been drank dry, its time to once again,

I would be a buyer of iPhone 6 if the rumors of fingerprint locking screen come true. There would be no better security in the mobile market and push the bar higher once again. And the iWatch is another purchase I would jump on due to the recent announcement of the Pebble. that is as close as to an iWatch as there is so far but I know Apple could take it to a whole new level. that would stun the entire tech industry!
