Freeport LNG signs a 20-year agreement with BP to export 4.4M metric tons/year of liquefied natural gas out of its proposed natural gas liquefaction and LNG loading facility in Texas. Freeport expects to begin shipments in 2017. The contract brings the total amount of U.S. gas committed for export to nearly 35M tons/year, or 5B cu. ft./day, with more deals sure to come.
