Tuesday, February 12, 2:50 PM ETMicrosoft (MSFT +0.5%) will launch interactive TV shows for Xbox Live this year, says studio chief Nancy Tellem. Tellem, formerly the head of CBS Network, suggests Kinect integration will be part of the package. Meanwhile, interactive entertainment chief Yusuf Mehdi brags the Xbox installed base is now at 76M, up from 70M in September, and that the Kinect's base is at 24M. The remarks come as rumors emerge the next Xbox will support multitasking and Siri-like voice control, and will require a Kinect to function. (Xbox set-top)

"The leak confirms the device will feature 64-bit D3D11.x 800GHz GPU, an 8-core x64 1.6GHz 4MB L2 CPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB of on-board memory, USB 3.0, HDMI-out, and an optical drive for 50GB discs.
The also confirmed the device will come with an upgraded Kinect which "must be plugged in and calibrated for the console to even function."
