Market recap: Stocks bounced off lows to close mixed, but the S&P 500 managed to pull off its seventh-straight week higher. An internal Wal-Mart memo describing February sales as a "total disaster" whacked shares ~2.5% and pulled down discount retailers. Gold futures fell sharply to lose more than 3% for the week, prompting prices to briefly breach the $1,600 support level. Crude oil slid below $96.

  • late rally? why was there a late rally? answer is there wasn't. maybe the averages moved but nothing that I watch made any move. Most everything I track went lower into the close. In my 30 years of being a trader, I have never seen a market like this. Controlled so so few; so few make money, so many lose money. With averages at highs, don't buy the hype. People are getting killed in this market.
