    The market is taking Microsoft's (MSFT +0.5%) healthy FQ4 results and cautious CC remarks in stride. But Davenport is responding with an upgrade to Buy, expecting strong enterprise PC and server demand to offset consumer PC weakness. However, Goldman is reiterating a Neutral, noting how earnings were boosted by a favorable tax rate. (PR) (transcript)

    MSFT should port some of the Windows only software (SQL Server, Office, Bussiness Apps) to OS X and Linux platforms to open up new revenue and growth streams. Its probably their best chance at accelerating growth, particularly with the growth in the "cloud". They currently contribute to the Linux build stream, so its not like they have zero skin in that game.
