    Microsoft (MSFT) roundup: 1) In an interview with Charlie Rose, Bill Gates owns up to Microsoft's says he's "not satisfied" with the company's level of innovation, but praises Windows 8, Surface, Xbox, and Bing. 2) Microsoft says it will integrate Skype with its Lync corporate IM/unified communications platform in June; that could help Lync against Cisco and other rivals. 3) Outlook.com is out of beta, and has 60M active users 7 months after launching. Microsoft claims a third of them came from Gmail.

  • I switched from Hotmail - not as big a deal. But I was VERY impressed with it when I tried it out.
    Hotmail.com or Live.com users don't need to change their e-mail addresses when upgrading, but if you want, it's a good opportunity to also get an Outlook.com address associated with the same mailbox.

  • The spirit of Bill's comment seems to be against Windows Phone's market performance, not necessarily against the product quality or features.

    I tend to agree. Long MSFT, and would love to see phone/tablet penetration in the 20% range.

    As an adopter or both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, the features and quality are second to none. I like them better than any other AAPL or GOOG device/OS. Most of my peers agree. Yet marketshare equals dollars.
