Wednesday, February 20, 8:57 AM ETTeva (TEVA) will be able to launch a generic version of Gilead's (GILD) Viread treatment for HIV and chronic hepatitis B in December 2017 after the companies reached a settlement ahead of a trial that was due to begin today. Gilead sued Teva in 2008 and 2010 for infringing its patents after the latter applied to the FDA to manufacture the drugs. Teva said the patents were invalid. (PR)
