Wednesday, February 20, 11:48 AM ETU.S. automaker Fisker is considering bids from Chinese companies which would give up majority control for an investment of between $200M and $300M. The effort to sell to a Chinese concern is largely due to the confluence of two large trends - 1) Soft response in the U.S. with Tesla Motors (TSLA -1.8%) stealing the show. 2) Raised interest in China on extended plug-in hybrid technology due to historic levels of pollution.

The value of Fisker is in its design, not in its IP.
The Fisker is much like the Volt/Cadillac PHEV in terms of technology and the Atlantic is supposed to be a competitor to high end greeb cars, but it will be late to the game and the competitors will already be established.
I see Fisker following the same track as Coda, comes in too late to the game and does not offer anything above the competition. That's economics 101
