    Canada has taken extensive action to protect the climate during the four years it has waited for U.S. approval of the Keystone pipeline (TRP), and there’s little more it can do in the short term, its ambassador to the U.S. says. Hinting at frustration with environmentalist concerns, he says the pipeline would displace greenhouse gases, not create new ones, "so we are not participating in gimmicks."

    We are going to burn the oil regardless of what the "Ecos" want, unless they have a substitute for oil.

    I would rather buy it from CA than Hugo Dictator or the middle east.

    Try linking the pipeline to lower gasoline prices. A real link, not a theoretical one. Some deal with the refiners in the gulf. Approval would be swift. Would the refiners still want the tar crude if they had to sell gasoline at a fair price in the US?

    Long term security and fair market value are the only assurances we will get from KXL. There may be short term price breaks but that is it.

    The big thing here is KXL fits with the president's goals of using infrastructure projects to help the economy. With KXL it is private money - not government money - everybody wins. Also another great photo op in front of a pile of pipe ready to go in the ground.

    With non industry funds now being 70% of the futures markets, I don't think fair market value applies in the oil patch at present.

    ya ya, one country can protect the climate, lets get over this glo-bull warming scam ok, just like these carbon tax credits, carbon taxes that are nothing more than a transfer of more tax paying money to these fraudulant oligarchs that dream these kind of scams up.....

    Mr. Obama made a deal to take $2B worth of Petrobus (foreign) oil to get George Soros (who a while ago invested $5B in Petrobus) to back his re-election. Nixing the pipeline from Canada does (at least) two things for him: 1) He repays Soros and 2) salves the environmentalists and Democratic left of his party.

    The only way he will approve the pipeline is if he can figure a way to get a democratic house out of it in 2014 so that he can once again completely rule as when he gave us Obama Care.
