    Warren Buffett (BRK.B) picks up another community newspaper, this one the Tulsa World, circulation 95K. "The newspaper business has become a difficult business model ... in particular for local family-owned newspapers," says Robert Lorton, whose family has published the paper for more than 100 years.

  • I'm not sure about this move by Mr. Buffett. Local newspapers have been a perfect "toll bridge" for years, but the Internet has completely changed the game and now local advertisers do have a choice that they hadn't before.

    subscribe to the local newspaper in order
    to follow local sports and doings.
    All other contact with the outside world
    is on line.

  • Someone told me that only the real estate of these newspapers (often located in centre of towns) are worth more than the price paid for the newspaper. Can someone with more insight comment on this rumor?
