That gives the maker of smart grid components, which originally filed in 2011, a valuation range of $709M-$797M. Silver Spring posted 2012 revenue of $196.7M (-17% Y/Y), and a net loss of $89.7M. Gross margin was a fairly modest 16%, and R&D spending amounted to 32% of revenue. 3.7M shares are being sold in the IPO, and another 705K in a private placement. (S-1)
