"We run out quickly and the new stuff doesn't come in," said Simon, who's appointed a VP to fix the problem. A Wal-Mart spokesman downplayed Simon's comments, although Californian department manager Evelin Cruz described them "as dead on."

While the other inventory is flying off the shelf because Walmart managers were unable to determine the demand for those commodities, as those were not stocked in its distribution centers.
And the article from my above comment further confirms a slowdown in Cn manufacturing last year.
Coupled with or amounting to a further global slowdown ....
