Sundar Pichai, already in charge of Google Chrome and Apps, will now run the Android unit as well. Rubin founded Android Inc. prior to its acquisition by Google, and oversaw the OS' transformation into the world's most popular smartphone platform. While announcing the change, Larry Page insists Rubin isn't leaving, and notes Android activations have topped 750M; it was only in September that they passed 500M.
