  • I wonder when the sell recommendations on the S&P are going to come. Should be anytime now.

  • It'll be interesting analysis to see if there is correlation between the drop in AAPL stock price and the rise of S&P500. All that money must be going somewhere.

  • Or the inverse? As AAPL starts rising--as it inevitably must--it will stop being an anchor on the S&P. Realize that it is the largest (ok, 2nd largest) cap in the index.

The amazing fact is that the index is moving a full speed when one of its two largest components is dead in the water its whole way up.

  • That's one of the dumbest comments I've seen. Where did all the money go that went out of the entire stock market in 2008/2009?

Money doesn't go anywhere. It circulates all ways. For every buyer putting money in, there is a seller taking money out. The market is just a way to value the company.

If I buy a popsicle, did my money go into the popsicle? If I buy a house, did my money go into the house?

  • No. But I bought a boat once. My money went into a hole in the water.

    Sorry.
