"AT&T's elimination of T-Mobile as an independent low-priced rival would remove a significant competitive force from the market," reads the complaint. Sprint (S +6.6%) spikes on the news.

A lower number of carriers means the less competition which equals higher prices and lower quality service.

Might be a surprise based on the Justice Department over the last couple of years, but it shouldn't be surprise to anybody facing reality. This deal was anti-competitive placing the vast majority of the mobile market in the hands of T and VZ.

At&t is based in Texas and Obama can not allow 5000 more jobs to be created by private sector. The government is socialist under Obama

Really believe the Justice Departments needs to stay out of it. Verizon, Sprint, and nextel are also in the industry which gives choice to the consumer.
