  • The article doesn't give the company's reason why they are cutting the jobs. Just curious what type of positions they are and the reason they are cutting them.

    Long KO.

  • Yes, lots of questions. I believe that Atlanta is their headquarters, so it may be cutting office workers to lower their overhead and become more efficient, but they didn't give us any clues in this article.

  • I hate to say this when equity buyers are all gung-ho about the run-up of the stock market . . .

BUT, I believe that there are red flashing signs everywhere that not only is the economy not picking up, it is continuing to flatten. Everywhere. The US. Europe. Even China. Japan has been totally flat for a decade now.

That, I think, is the answer to why Coke is cutting jobs in Atlanta.

In the February just behind us, Walmart had the worst month for sales IN SEVEN YEARS. There's a message in that, people. The media is cheerleading for the US government -- trying ever so hard to persuade people that housing is coming back, unemployment is going down etc. etc. etc. I just don't see that. And when I look around me at the situation on the ground, I REALLY don't see that.

  • With the government printing money and the New World Order elite wanting to crash the dollar in 3-4 years I think the stock market will fall badly by the last quarter of this year. Certainly by April of 2014 I think the smart money will be out of the market. But coca cola is an asset. I think those who own it should hang on for the fall.

  • Canary in the coal mine? Cyprus??

If the Cyprus Government goes along with giving the "haircut" to the savers, the ripple effect could go across Europe - - Look at history and the "Bank Holidays" that USA had during the depression - - Selling mattresses that can be stuffed might be the next biggest industry to invest in
