Friday, October 7, 2011, 3:13 PM ETIHS estimates U.S. sales of DVD and Blu-Ray titles fell 14% in 1H '11, to $3.96B. Though hopeful 2H sales will be better, the slow adoption of Blu-Ray is proving a handicap for studios such as DIS, TWX, LGF, and MGM, and increasing the appeal of online distributors such as NFLX and AMZN as a way to monetize content.

Give them a single play option at a low price, and grow the visual appeal from that price... the value will be determined in short order... how many people actually watch a movie more than once?
Not to mention that streaming is continuously at risk for bumping into ISP bandwidth caps.
Yes... streaming IS the future. But not for me "now".
