    This is scary: A computer virus has hit the military's system used to fly drone missions overseas. Specialists say no classified info has been lost or sent to an outside source...before adding this zinger: "We keep wiping it off, and it keeps coming back...We think it’s benign. But we just don’t know." Companies tied to defense contracts for aerial drones include BA, LMT, AVAV, and NOC.

    Attempts like this were inevitable. What's amazing is this one worked. We've known the telemetry wasn't encrypted for years.

    ANY networked system is vulnerable. Yes, risks can be mitigated, but so far this is being reported as a benign bug.

    Benign or not, whoever wrote it now knows more about vulnerabilities than they did before and what we don't know about undetected hacks could be frightening.
