General Motors (GM +1%) says the EPA estimated the new Chevrolet Spark will boast a combined city/highway fuel economy rating of 82 mpg when it goes on sale this summer. The mark is double the rating of the much-aligned Chevrolet Volt and could increase interest in the all-electric subcompact. A single charge should last 75 to 80 miles and buyers can also use a DC fast charger which gives 80% of capacity in 20 minutes, according to the company.
