I'm not surprised. The distance between promises from Sarkozy and Merkel to get something done and actually nailing down the framework is far. The fact that they have to work with politicians from the PIIGS only makes it worse. No quick fixes, friends, but at least the ambulance has arrived and things should only get better (unless the ambulance gets into an accident).

We saw how long it took all 17 to approve expanding the esfs. If they decide to leverage it up, to the 2 trillion we keep hearing, all 17 have to vote again. Throw in a few more downgrades and there just may be too many moving parts to pull off this rescue. Many months away at best.
