The Nikkei Average gains 2.04% to 9,058 amid a broad-based rally. Technology shares and banks lead: Sony (SNE +5.43%), Sharp (SHCAF.PK +3.74%), Mitsubishi UFJ (MTU +5.74%), Mizuho Financial Group (MFG +3.70%) and Nomura (NMR +7.67%).
