  • Apple CEO Says TV Is 'Intense Focus,' Sees Closer Facebook Ties 1 comment
    May 30, 2012 1:56 PM | about stocks: AAPL

It looks like Apple (AAPL) is getting close to a release date on their TV product. I wouldn't be surprised to see it launched earlier than anticipated as Apple tends to under-promise and over-deliver. I'm also quite optimistic that they should be able to utilize their dominant technology infrastructure to deliver advertising that could add another revenue stream. The future of Apple will depend on their ability to maintain their dominant footprint in the minds of consumers, and maintain their substantial gross margin advantage. No technology company has been more successful than Apple, but given the current market capitalization I believe the risks of a screw up outweigh the upside potential when compared with other opportunities.

  • From mixed reports on Foxconn, it seems like Apple isn't ready to release the TV sooner than later. If they're making the Apple TV, they're definitely rushing to have it finished by October-December to capitalize on the holiday rush. Releasing the TV anytime soon after then would only take away from its demand since most people will have already upgraded during the holiday season.
