It is very hard or impossible to time the broad market consistently — there are no famous investors that got rich by consistently knowing what the broad market would do next. This only makes sense, as there are just too many variables in the broad market. But there are many famous investors who... More

With a couple hours of trading left I just bought a little more MannKind, lots of calls expire today and the price may be down because of that. So 3 reasons to buy MannKind in the next 2 hours (or after-hours at comparable prices, options technically expire at midnight):

1 - For MNKD bulls this is buying on weakness

2 - Take advantage of possible swing trade involving options expiry

3 - Lots of deals happen over the weekend, they could close with a partner this weekend

No time for hilarious jokes, time's passing!...OK, in honor of billionaire Alfred Mann here is a funny quote from billionaire J. Paul Getty:

"If you can count your money, you don't have a billion dollars."

    Disclosure: I am long MNKD.

Two cannibals are eating a clown... one looks up and says to the other... "Does this taste funny to you?".

Two cannibals are eating a billionaire.... one looks up and says to the other... "Does this taste money to you?" The other one says... gee it tastes a lot like a pollitician to me." The first one says "Yeah well they're probably related".

Double Badaboom. Sorry. I will ponder the two billionaires who walk into a bar... but nothing yet...

    Thanks Joe! To continue...

So two billionaires, Joe and Dennis, walk into a bar... order a drink... and start chatting... "So how did you get your fortune?" asked Dennis.

Joe answered "Oil... oil wells. I started with one... and now I own a lot of them. So how did you make your fortune, Dennis?"

    Dennis responded... "Congress".

"Oh", responded Joe... "So you're a congressman?"

"No" said Dennis... "but like you, I started out with one... and now I own a lot of them!"

    Tripple BadaBoom and I'm done.

It's a great opening line to ponder, Joe... I'm working on one where one orders a beer and one orders an expensive scotch on the rocks...

As far as closing lines, my favorite comes from Buck Barrow talking to brother Clyde in "Bonnie and Clyde" with Warren Beattie when we come into a scene and they both are laughing and Buck says "so then he says 'Whatever you do... don't sell that cow!' ".

I've always wanted to know the first part of that joke. Forty five years now and I'm still wondering.

Buck Barrow: Hey, you wanna hear a story 'bout this boy? He owned a dairy farm, see. And his ol' Ma, she was kinda sick, you know. And the doctor, he had called him come over, and said, uh, "Uhh listen, your Ma, she's lyin' there, she's just so sick and she's weakly, and uh, uh I want ya to try to persuade her to take a little brandy," you see. Just to pick her spirits up, ya know. And "Ma's a teetotaler," he says. "She wouldn't touch a drop." "Well, I'll tell ya whatcha do, uh," - the doc - "I'll tell ya whatcha do, you bring in a fresh quart of milk every day and you put some brandy in it, see. And see. You try that." So he did. And he doctored it all up with the brandy, fresh milk, and he gave it to his Mom. And she drank a little bit of it, you know. So next day, he brought it in again and she drank a little more, you know. And so they went on that way for the third day and just a little more, and the fourth day, she was, you know, took a little bit more - and then finally, one week later, he gave her the milk and she just drank it down. Boy, she swallowed the whole, whole, whole thing, you know. And she called him over and she said, "Son, whatever you do, don't sell that cow!"
