The Telegraph reports:

Shell announced that it plans to dispose the Anasuria, Nelson and Sean platforms and production systems in the UK North Sea. All three assets are operated by Shell.

Asset details

· Anasuria FPSO: Produces from the Teal, Teal South, Guillemot A and Cook fields, located in Quad 21 in the UK CNS

· Nelson platform: Has tie-backs to Howe and Bardolino fields, located in Quad 21 in the UK CNS

· Sean platforms: Connected to the Sean area fields, located in Quad 48 in the UK SNS

The announcement comes in the midst of a sensitive political climate caused by a forthcoming referendum on Scottish independence. However, Shell was keen to deny that the move was influenced by politics.

In June 2013, Ithaca signed an agreement with Shell to farm-out 50% interest in license P2048, UK North Sea.

In September 2012, Shell was awarded Transocean 10-year contracts for four newbuild dynamically positioned ultra-deep-water drillships.
