Next week, my stock option newsletter prints Issue #4 and becomes one month old. The response so far has been fantastic. We have subscribers from nine countries with the largest concentrations in the Northeast, San Francisco Bay Area, Southern California and, interestingly, New Mexico. Other countries represented: Canada, the UK, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, Switzerland and Germany.

In this Seeking Alpha instablog post, I want to do two things. First, I want to quickly tell you what to expect from the newsletter. Second, I want to ask that Seeking Alpha readers provide some ideas of what confuses them about options. Broadening that out a bit, what types of features and coverage would you like or expect to see in an options newsletter than focuses on basic to intermediate-level strategies and spends about 20-30% of each issue covering select stocks and ETFs?

Each week, we provide a discussion, light on the jargon, of a basic to intermediate-level option topic (so far we have discussed covered calls, how to replicate direct stock ownership using options and ITM versus OTM calls); an update on model portfolio stocks and ETFs; dividend capture ideas and a covered call pick of the week from Robert Weinstein; high-IV, buy-write ideas; a section on hedging and diversifying and a speculative section.

The focus is on strategy, process and mechanics, not necessarily touting stocks or "picking winners." I gear the newsletter for long-term investors after growth, income and a little bit of speculation.

While I definitely guide the ship, I have already received excellent feedback and suggestions from subscribers. I would like to open that up to the Seeking Alpha audience because you can always count on fantastic ideas from this site's readers.

If you want to subscribe to the newsletter, you can use the link at the top of the page. Upon confirming your sign-up, you receive a free copy of my basic option strategy eBook as well as the last two complete newsletters and all of the updates that came between.

    Thanks for your time.

    Rocco!

I would love to hear and learn about any successful option traders and their specific methodologies.

For example, we hear about Buffett - Value. Lynch - Buy What You Know , Soykota - Trend Following, and their different approaches to having consistent returns. Is there anyone out there who consistently make money trading basic options? If not, why are we recommending it as a strat?

Who is the Buffett of options.? I'm guessing Talib's option strategies are very different from yours...

    cheers!
