I wanted to point out a very exciting publication for anyone following the Emisphere story (and of course for anyone suffering from osteoarthritis!):

    http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2474/11/62/abstract

The publication is the first proof that we have yet to see in human studies that salmon calcitonin is a disease-modifying drug for treating osteoarthritis.  In previous articles I had argued that we would find out that this was the case but my evidence, although factual and very compelling, was circumstantial.   Now we see why Novartis has invested so much time and money into oral salmon calcitonin and perhaps why we were kept in the dark for so long.

A very sharp biotech investor told me this morning that he believes that oral salmon calcitonin will be a $10 Billion drug for Novartis in 5 years and I agreed with him.  What price would Emisphere be trading at if we had a billion dollars in pre-tax cash flow 5 years from now?   This is not a hypothetical question that is predicated on a risky binary event and uncertain market acceptance.  Go back and read through my previous articles to find out why I believe that this is almost certain to happen.

p.s. I will be heading down to Experimental Biology 2010 to check in on Emisphere.  They are going to be releasing some clinical data from their trial on the high dose B12.  I look forward to reporting to you all on the buzz surrounding high dose Eligen B12 and also getting feedback from doctors and industry professionals.

  • Dear Joe:

Thanks for the heads up on the Experimental Biology Conference in Anaheim, CA. April 24-28, 2010. After reviewing the full agenda I noticed their is a symposium on Wednesday 4/28 starting at 8:30AM entitled, "Clacitonin & Glucocorticoids - a novel approach to anti-inflammatory therapy". Several unfamiliar scientists were listed in addition to Unigene Labs, Fairfield , N.J. However, I could not find Emisphere Technologies', Inc. - High Dose B12 update anywhere on the list. Do you know when EMIS is supposed to talk?

Well, i don't know what to say...other than thank you for the triple!
I read all of your 2009 articles on 12/30/2009...on 12/31/2009 bought a boat load of EMIS shares...my gut told me it was a unique time in the company's history...so i put a large limit order the night of 12/30/2009 at about 10% lower where it closed that day. Unvelievably, the whole order was executed $.02 cents below my limit order...that never happened to me before!

All of the information in your articles about EMIS and the following information that I gathered told me to make a concetrated and bold move...something that has not always worked for me in the past...1) A major insider purchased more than 5,000,000 shares in August 2009 at $.90/share (a director who your past commenters have unjustly demonized in their wordy attacks on the company and MHR, in particular. 2) Three late stage Phase III Trials that appeared positive 3) A Golden Cross that occurred on or about January 7, 2010 signifying a major trend change from a devastating 10 year Mega-Downtrend from $84.50 a share ( realized after the investment was made)...and a 4) Triple Bottom (all three of which occurred in 2009)...extremely bullish!!!!!!

Big Joe...see you at the conference in a couple weeks.

    Bobby D.
