    Sep 10, 2013 2:02 PM | about stocks: GS

For as long as I have been trading,Goldman Sachs - GS - has always remained an interesting topic.Whether being mentioned in a complex trade or standing in the shadows of a major Market movement, the Firm draws responses from all corners of the Financial World. They have many detractors who feel the company has too many hands in the Market with too much influence. Those who do not like Goldman must have been shocked this morning to see them enter the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index.Personal feelings aside,Goldman Sachs excellent financial position makes them a deserving component for the DIA.It is hard to believe that just 5 years ago they were right in the middle of the Financial crisis of 2008-2009.At times it looked like they would join Bear Stearns and Lehman Bros. as casualties of a trading apocalypse that started in the housing market.Hedging against the uncertainty of market direction enabled them to escape to live and trade another day.Since that period Goldman has recovered to claim their place at the top of the trading world.Love them or hate them, that recovery has to be commended with the inclusion into the Dow.Another feather in the cap of Lloyd Blankfein who has steered the ship away from the rocks of economic disaster. Now a bigger spotlight will be illuminated on the Wall Street juggernaut magnifying all deeds big or small.Reaching the top adds prestige to the firm that was founded in 1869 in New York City.Let's hope they will live up to these new higher standards.Wall Street could use a trusted leader going forward into the Future.

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours.

Blasphemy! They are the Iluminati! lol

On a more serious note, I hope this finds you well.

There are many things I do not like about GS. I have developed a great disdain for investment banks and investment bank "arms" since the financial crisis. However, GS is simply the best investment bank or "arm" out there. At the right price I would buy hand over fist(again that is, harking back to stockpickr days.) They are the best at what they do. As a caveat, I think their conviction buy list is a joke! lol

Author’s reply » Great to hear you again. When I wrote this article it was a call for GS to elevate their status on Wall Street by going in a better trading direction.I do not know if they will but the light will be brighter now their in the Dow.Since Cramer shut down the Stockpickr site my Business has taken off so time is limited for chatting.when I have time it will be here for the most part.I guess Cramer viewed my stock picks as a threat to his pay services, lol.Mine were free and the others were over-priced in my observation.Oh well life goes on and my corner of the world is doing fine.
