  • Obama's Folly : Buy 5.5 Million Shares Of Apple Instead 7 comments
    Jun 29, 2014 12:40 PM | about stocks: AAPL

This week President Obama proposed $500 Million dollars in aid to Syrian rebels. These numbers are thrown around on a weekly basis and can blur the lines of reality at times. The real question that should be raised is whether American taxpayers are getting a good return on their investment ? Almost no accountability for these large expenditures with no apparent benefit to anyone. When are citizens going to demand at least a five percent return on their tax investments ? Instead of sending this money to faraway places for dubious people to squander, buy 5.5 million shares of Apple - AAPL - as an investment in America. Then we can watch it grow into a nest egg for future generations.Steve Jobs would be proud of a President, finally.

Disclosure: The author is long AAPL.

I didn't realise Apple were in the business of defeating Tyrannical Corrupt Dictators hell bent on keeping his people in poverty and fear.

Obama's folly's are to numerous to count.

I don't want to be "proud" of my president. I want him to do his job. Which he seems incapable of doing. Instead he continues to campaign, touring the country giving speeches....What is he campaigning for?

While I do not wish to discuss politics, I must remind you that the 1st recession was caused by the excesses of the nineties and a terrorist attack. That same terrorist attack led to both wars, "officially." The seeds of the 2nd recession were sown in the nineties and the fault can be laid in the laps of both major parties. Can we try to be accurate and stay away from revisionist history?

Aid from Western country's is largely wasted. Much of what we send to Africa ends up in government officials' pockets. Whether the US has a moral obligation to help people in other countries who suffer, simply throwing money at the problem is ineffective.
