Even after North Korea's attack on a South Korean island, the country is not a top threat (until they have nuclear weapons that is). Right now analysts just see the country as posturing as the country switches leadership from Kim Jong-il to his son. Lest we forget, six months ago, the North torpedoed a South Korean ship and technically, although there is a "cease fire", the Korean War never officially ended.
Terrorism, cybersecurity, Iran, and China all rank higher as threats to the U.S. As of mid-afternoon, the defense sector remains in play, with the Powershares Defense ETF (NYSE: PPA) off just 0.73% vs. the S&P500's broader market sell off of 1.59%. YTD, the SPADE Defense Index remains up 3.45%.
