I have been tracking the performance of High Dividend Opportunities since it was first published on Seeking Alpha in December 2015.

In order to assess the performance of the portfolio, I compiled a list of all the Sell Alerts that were sent to subscribers from December 1, 2015 until July 23, 2016. I am also reporting the unrealized returns for the same period.

Unrealized Returns

The unrealized returns and dividends received on our current holdings (Core Portfolio of 40 securities + Optional Stocks and Traded Funds), the majority of which were purchased between December 1, 2015 and July 23, 2016 amounted to 25.5% on July 23, 2016.

Our Sell Alerts have returned on average 13.1%. You can check the table of all "Sell Alerts" at the bottom of this report, all of which can be traced to High Dividend Opportunities Premium Posts.

Overall Performance

Since the funds from the sold positions were redeployed into new securities, the overall performance for the past 8 months (since December 1, 2015) is about 40% (25.5%+13.1% - based on weighted average) compared to the average return of the S&P 500 of 3.4% for the same period. The "High Dividend Opportunities" portfolio outperformed the S&P 500 by 11.7 times.

I am very happy that we were fully invested since January 2016 and took full advantage of the recent market rally. We were overweight Property REITs and oil & gas midstream MLPs - which were our best performing sectors. Going forward, it may be more difficult to achieve such high returns; however we are always looking to uncover new high-dividend securities with solid fundamentals and trading at bargain prices.
