I have seen a lot of communication about Blackrock and its investment in Arena. Sometimes it amazes me that some people jump to wild conclusions when information is so readily available.

In January of 2014 Blackrok filed with the SEC and disclosed the following:

Number of shares beneficially owned by each reporting person with:

(5) Sole voting power -15,214,455

(6) Shared voting power - None

(7) Sole dispositive power - 16,016,015

(8) Shared dispositive power - None

(9) Aggregate amount beneficially owned by each reporting person - 16,016,015

(10) Check if the aggregate amount in Row (9) excludes certain shares

(11) Percent of class represented by amount in Row 9 - 7.3%

In January of 2015 Blackrock filed this:

Number of shares beneficially owned by each reporting person with:

(5) Sole voting power - 14,810,705

(6) Shared voting power - NONE

(7) Sole dispositive power - 15,295,845

(8) Shared dispositive power - NONE

(9) Aggregate amount beneficially owned by each reporting person - 15,295,845

(10) Check if the aggregate amount in Row (9) excludes certain shares

(11) Percent of class represented by amount in Row 9 - 6.9%

The bottom line is that in the past year Blackrock has DECREASED shares in Arena. That is the reality. ALWAYS look at the data!
