Ladies and Gentz:
Air hangs thick with rumors of acquistions as the leaders in the industry use the downturn to consolidate and strengthen their positions and move into new markets. The candidates that are ripe for an acquisition in the tech industry are EMC, JNPR and BRCD. These would make great candidates for the likes of IBM and HP who want to defend their turf against CSCO. Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) is a great candidate for a substantial Search-based deal with Microsoft if not an outright acquisition. EBAY is also a great candidate foir a possible acquisition by Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN). Limelight Networks (NASDAQ:LLNW) is a great takeover candidate by the likes of Akamai (NASDAQ:AKAM).The NASDAQ is looking up and the bullish trend is intact. On the pharma side Vertex Pharma (NASDAQ:VRTX) is rife for an acquisition by a bigger player. Pick your favorite from the list and make a play for a nice payout in the case of an acqusition. Needless to say, all these equities are good on both daily and weekly charts so just buying and holding and selling for a premium down the road is an option as well.
