As we've shown in a previous case study, there may a relationship between Facebook "Likes" and stock market performance.

For this reason, we wanted to identify a list of Application Software companies that have seen a significant growth in the number of Facebook "Likes" between 7/20/2012 and 7/27/2012.

To narrow our focus, we only focused on industry names that had Facebook "Likes" ranging between 1,000 and 3,000 on 7/20/2012 (we do this to make sure the percentage changes are comparable)

The top ranked companies are listed below. All "Like" changes take place between 7/20/2012 and 7/27/2012.

1. Jive Software, Inc. (JIVE): Facebook "Likes" increased from 2,842 to 4,267 (+50.14% change)

2. MICROS Systems, Inc. (MCRS): Facebook "Likes" increased from 1,447 to 1,471 (+1.66% change)

Designs, manufactures, markets, and services enterprise information solutions for the hospitality and specialty retail industries.

3. Manhattan Associates, Inc. (MANH): Facebook "Likes" increased from 1,386 to 1,405 (+1.37% change)

Develops and provides supply chain software solutions for the planning and execution of supply chain activities.

4. Smith Micro Software Inc. (SMSI): Facebook "Likes" increased from 1,314 to 1,332 (+1.37% change)

Develops and markets wireless communications software products and services.

5. F5 Networks, Inc. (FFIV): Facebook "Likes" increased from 2,326 to 2,357 (+1.33% change)

Provides technology that optimizes the delivery of network-based applications, and the security, performance, and availability of servers, data storage devices, and other network resources in the Americas, EMEA, Japan, and the Asia Pacific.

6. Compuware Corporation (CPWR): Facebook "Likes" increased from 2,083 to 2,100 (+0.82% change)

Provides software and Web performance solutions, professional services, and application services.

7. Deltek, Inc (PROJ): Facebook "Likes" increased from 1,251 to 1,258 (+0.56% change)

Provides enterprise software solutions, and information solutions and services for project-focused organizations, including professional services firms, government contractors, and government agencies worldwide.

8. Progress Software Corp. (PRGS): Facebook "Likes" increased from 2,421 to 2,430 (+0.37% change)

Operates as an enterprise software company worldwide.
