Gammon Gold Inc. (GRS) Updates Mining Activity at Mexican Property

Gammon Gold Inc. issued an operational update on its mining operations in Mexico, where the company is prospecting for gold and other minerals. The company recently completed a drilling exploration program on its properties.

Gammon Gold Inc. has interests in the Ocampo property located in Chihuahua State. In 2010, the company drilled approximately 140,000 meters utilizing twelve underground and surface rigs. Gammon Gold Inc. reported high grade mineralization at several different sites at the property, including Resurrecion, Polvorin and Refugio Norte.

The management team was optimistic on the results of the exploration program at the Ocampo mine. Peter Drobeck, the Senior Vice President of Exploration and Business Development at Gammon Gold Inc., said, “We are very encouraged by the continuing positive results from our exploration program that supports the significant upside potential at Ocampo.”

Gammon Gold Inc. has already begun its 2011 exploration drilling program at Ocampo, which involve 11 rigs working at various different veins at the site.

Gammon Gold Inc. is a mining exploration and development company with ownership interests in various properties in Mexico. The company owns the El Cubo mine in Guanajuato State, the Guadalupe y Calvo development property in Chihuahua State and the Mezquite Project in Zacatecas State.

Gammon Gold Inc. has also made investments in other mining companies, including Golden Queen Mining Co. Ltd. and Corex Gold Corporation.
