In a recent West Coast television interview, Linda Nelson, Director of Education and Sales for ISCO's subsidiary, Lifeline Skin Care, had the opportunity to explain why the application of stem cell technology is now the hottest thing in anti-aging skin care. She also explained why Lifeline is so unique.

The Lifeline Skin Care approach is all about harnessing the regenerative powers of stem cells to help in the healing and repair of aging skin. Basically, it's about their unique way of formulating and encapsulating stem cell ingredients for skin application serums that help skin cells proliferate and collagen to form, making the skin healthier and more youthful looking. The company uses the actual extract from the stem cell itself, versus synthesized chemicals, and, in addition, uses proprietary parthenogenetic stem cells (hpSCs) as its source, versus embryonic or other types of stem cells. These hpSCs are unique to Lifeline, and are not derived from human embryos. They are specially generated stem cells that have the positive qualities of other stem cells, with none of the negative properties, and are available only to Lifeline.

The idea is to give back to the skin cells the growth factors and peptides that they once had when they were more youthful. The extracted and processed ingredients are captured in nanospheres, which are then combined into special skin treatment serums. There is a day serum, designed for protecting the skin and cell DNA from environmental damage, and a night serum, designed to renourish the skin during sleep. There is also an eye treatment, combining a stem cell extract with other ingredients to counteract wrinkles, puffiness, and other problems common to aging skin around the eyes. Although people say they begin to see results fairly quickly, the treatment is supposed to continue for a full cell cycle, meaning 45 to 60 days. The Lifeline treatment is the first human-derived non-embryonic stem cell extract that helps to stimulate collagen and elastin.
