Derycz Scientific, Inc., a provider of content re-use services and products primarily in the United States, has announced that’s its wholly-owned subsidiary, Reprints Desk, Inc., has signed an agreement with Oriprobe Information Services, Inc. This agreement will allow Reprints Desk to source and deploy Oriprobe’s collection of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and other Asian journals. Derycz Scientific subsidiaries delivered out millions of articles to a surplus of 100 countries, including many in Asia, during the last fiscal year partly due to the growing demand for Chinese and other non-English content.

“Major multinational corporations are increasingly seeking to consolidate content procurement services with a single supplier like Derycz Scientific to meet their needs for any article, in any quantity and any language, at any workforce location,” said Derycz Scientific’s Chief Executive Officer Peter Derycz. “The agreement between Derycz subsidiary Reprints Desk and Oriprobe bolsters our already unique capabilities for meeting the diverse needs of multinational corporations.”

“Oriprobe is pleased to collaborate with Reprints Desk to make our valuable journal article collection available to a wider market that is increasingly seeking STM journal articles in Chinese and other Asian languages,” said Frank Liu, Oriprobe’s Chief Customer Service Officer. “Reprints Desk customers will benefit through this gateway to research materials that now totals over 10,000 journals.”

Reprints Desk supports customers’ scientific, medical and technical research by providing for online ordering and electronic delivery of single copies of peer-reviewed journal articles, more commonly known as “document delivery.” Customers rely upon Reprints Desk’s document delivery services in order to increase the use of subscriptions and other existing content investments, in order to avoid unnecessary indirect and direct costs that are associated with information retrieval, to decrease legal risk through improved copyright compliance, and to improve the researcher productivity through more rapid access to content. Reprints Desk had announced in June of 2011 that it was expanding to serve the market in Japan through a referral agreement it had entered with USACO Corporation, which is based in Tokyo.

Derycz Scientific, Inc. develops products, services, companies, and systems that facilitate the re-use of published content in a way that helps institutions achieve their marketing, research, and communication goals effectively and in compliance with the regulatory rules and copyright laws. Its subsidiary companies include Reprints Desk, Inc., Pools Press, Inc. and its recently acquired Techniques Appliquees aux Arts Graphiques, S.p.A. (TAAG).
