    Jan 8, 2014 10:43 AM | about stocks: STVF

Stevia First, an early-stage agribusiness focused on the industrial scale production of all natural zero-calorie sweetener stevia reports that its CEO, Robert Brooke, was recently featured in a New York Times article published January 1, 2014.

The article, titled "The Quest for a Natural Sugar Substitute," provides history on stevia and the beverage industry's quest to find enhanced flavor profiles and cost-effective refining processes.

"As badly as stevia needs the soft-drink companies, the soft-drink companies may need stevia even more," writes the author.

Specifically delving into ongoing research in the areas beyond Reb A, the most commonly used stevia sweetener today, the article highlights next-generation sweeteners like Reb D and X (or M), which could be game changers for the industry.

Brooke, states in the article that "these next-generation stevia sweeteners hold a lot of potential for unlocking new growth within the stevia industry. Reb-A has done quite well… Reb-D and Reb-X can take it to a whole new level."

Stevia First is working to establish a vertically integrated stevia enterprise in the United States, leveraging its expertise in stevia seed and tissue propagation, plant breeding, and cultivation.

Whenever I have pizza I drink Zevia, a pretty good tasting cola. A friend is nuts about it, can't get it where he lives. I think as people become more health conscious and science proving how toxic sugar/aspartame are, the soda industries in order to stay profitable will move toward Stevia, or other natural sweetners.

I also use Stevia in my coffee, tea, cereal, anywhere I used sugar years ago.

I have plenty of shares of $STVF!
