Author’s reply » Since industry leader Johnson Controls is moving forward with a 48v lithium battery, plus a 12v starter battery (which someday BOTH a 12v lithium starter battery, and a 48v hotel load battery will be placed within the same casing), is Axion working on a 48v PbC?

I know you have backed off the 300% sequential revenue improvement but are you still committed to being Cash flow break even in any quarter in FY 2013?

mrholty, that fair question should be asked IMO. I believe he said Q4 2013 for CFP.

Here are some topics/Questions for wheeled vehicles, some from previous Q&As.

Asian automaker should have cars with PbC's in them by now. Ask about testing schedule?

Last conference call TG said in an answer to a BMW question, "The initial program when we hope to do is get that completed so that we still could take advantage and they could take advantage hopefully of some fleet testing in the winter season. That was the target. The testing has been ongoing. We can’t get into a lot of the details about it. Like anything there have been some starts and stops but we’re still positive about it." If he doesn't say fleet testing has started someone will ask.

Charles Mackall - Avenir Corporation, Dan Skolnik, Michael Karpoff, Jeff (inaudible) all asked about BMW on the last call plus myself and several others on the previous call so we will "Make him talk" (colonel Klink accent inserted) all things BMW.

I think we should follow-up on the domestic automaker as well.

Not to forget the grant testing phase two should be soon.

NS OTR vehicle (vehicle is TG's description from last CC) progress? Only one NS question last Q&A.

ZERO APU questions last call. Need some this time for sure.

Can't leave ePower out. Status of 2nd conversion? Anything?

Last year we experienced our largest order to date. I suspect the Axion production crew used this order to test their ideas for the day when the line is in full production. Can you share some details on how this experiment went? and did you share your findings with our potential customers who might be uneasy about our ability to mass produce the PbC?

    - How is the partnership with Rosewater Energy going? Are there any HUB sales to speak of?

    - How much in 'sales' does Axion forecast to have for this year, and a breakdown by customer if possible? (even if for testing purposes in the case of OEM)

What is your current visibility on the flooded battery contract?

If this goes away unexpectedly, or before we find a real set of strategic partners, we would be screwed [6/8/12] ways [to|from] Sunday ...

Good question wtb. With so many different PbC topics, it's easy to forget about this major bread and butter issue.

Please tell the history of the carbon sheeting production process. Specifically did last Wednesday's announcement represent the last of a series of incremental improvements taking place over years or did mark a totally new system becoming operational that reduced labor by 80% while increasing production by 300% virtually overnight?

What effect will the new carbon sheeting automation have on total cost of the PbC?

Nothing they can do about the residential cube, but they have performance agreements.
Rosewater fails to perform then they kick in.
What exactly they are I don't know.

Who's going to help me ask these questions? Please private message me if there's some you will ask (along with the odds of you not having an emergency that could make you miss the call) and I will mark it off my list, or put it on the "back in the queue" list should I get a second chance.

What can you tell us about the unusually high finished goods inventory of $1,677,605 at year end?

    WT,
Just a thought but if someone would e-mail the questions to TG, he would probably address them in his address to the shareholders.

Now that carbon sheeting manufacture is automated and linkable to the automated electrode assembly line, do you anticipate lower R&D expense going forward?

D-Inv: In the quarterly report they mention that R & D going forward will be "consistent", IIRC. Not sure what that means though as they also discuss the R & D effort now being more towards working with customers to meet their needs.

This was in last years 10-K

    AXION POWER INTERNATIONAL, INC.
    CONSOLIDATED BALANCE SHEETS
    (A Development Stage Company)

    Same section this year

    AXION POWER INTERNATIONAL, INC.
    CONSOLIDATED BALANCE SHEETS

I would like to see him talk about no longer being "a development stage company"

I will try to ask about Auto/BMW/APU (OEM stuff).

Edit: D-Inv, I was addressing it to you and wondered if "no longer a development company" tied in with your R & D question somehow?

    Premature send, sorry.

Yes indeed, KG. "No longer a development stage company" is directly linked to most of my questions. If Axion now regards the PbC as 'commercialized', R&D outlays many fall a bit -- at least temporarily -- as well as change in nature. Further, "no longer a development stage company" quite clearly projects definition of a product line, performance of the products in purposes they address, and pricing.

Will development of the continuous roll carbon sheet production line reduce cost of PbC batteries to buyers this year?

What effect will addition of the continuous roll carbon sheet line have on Axion PbC profit margins?

Rosewater Energy's web site includes a "PowerCube Technical Specifications" sheet that lists some physical and energy storage performance characteristics for Axion 30HT PbC batteries.

WHY is Axion's web site silent on PbC battery form factors and performance characteristics?

I don't think changes the idea you want to express, just thought I'd put in a reminder, that is a draft on the Rosewater site.

For me, the most important question is ...

Does it look highly likely a strategic investment partner will be the source of financing now or more likely the source be similar to last financing round? Or is it looking uncertain which way it will go now?

Is East Penn still evaluating the PbC technology and if so what are the results thus far?

If this project is ongoing who is paying the bill?
