  • This should be the best shareholders meeting in the history of shareholders meetings. Looking forward to meeting a bunch of great people I spent the past year getting to know.

The Wooden Angel sounds like one of those local restaurants that no one should pass up. I'm in.

I will be flying in. I assume a rental car is necessary or does the Hampton provide transportation?

  • Author’s reply » You'll need to rent a car. I believe New Castle is about and hour or a little more from the Pittsburgh Intl. Airport.

I've seen the owner of the Wooden Angle give wine tastings a while back. Supposedly, the Wooden Angle has one of the top wine lists in western PA. It's nationally renowned.

  • I note that 3/4 of the latest "new followers" (in the upper right hand corner of this page) I have never seen before on the Axion Concentrator. (I assume that these are new followers to this Instablog). It hints that there are a *lot* more people following Axion than we might know about.

I will be flying in on Wednesday and leaving on Friday unless someone has a thought that extended plans are necessary.

I'll soon be touching base with John about when he would like to come here, as we could also take a couple of side trips to East Penn (about two hours from where I live) and Viridity Energy (about 10 minutes from my home).

I imagine the Hampton Inn in New Castle doesn't fill up too fast but they might get a rude awakening and wonder why June 21st is their busiest day of the year.

I can't book my Hampton room until JP let's me know his schedule. He confirmed today that he will be flying in here. Going to be a fun ride across PA, and hopefully even more fun coming home.

Of course, no word yet on the East Penn side trip.

  • Last years conference is the one that got this whole APC craziness started. I feel like this will be one of the better "vacations" I have had.

We travel across PA quite a bit to visit family in Cleveland and I always see that sign for New Castle off of I-76 and I nudge my wife and say, "Our company is somewhere over there."

Though TG recieved me well at last years sharholders conference (mostly because I told him that JP and I are chums), it was quite a different reception when I attended the PowerCube unveiling (which TG personally invited me to). Everyone knew who Mayascribe was, who the Axionistas were, the importance the Axionistas are to AXPW. I recall being so busy whispering during the visit to the robotic line, that I may have missed valuble info.

This year is going to be wildly different, with so many of us coming.

You know I will be right away looking for another small mountain of empty battery casings! The other thing I want to see is where the cathodes are made. I'm blank on that one.

Someone asked about dress code,, or, as in "what are you gonna wear?" Last year, I figured,,hey we are gonna walk thru a dirty battery factory, so I wore jeans and work boots, and a nice shirt. But the meeting was held at the country club, and I felt like a sore thumb. Its a bit of an Amish dilemma. There was a lot of suit jackets without ties at the country club. So maybe ,,,jeans are ok, but a bump up wouldn't hurt. No one gave me any snide sideways attitude for being bluecollar. There was also a heck of a table of pastry and fruit . save room for that. :)

  • Author’s reply » Hello everyone! It's the eve of the eve!

I am targeting arriving to the Hampton Inn by 6 PM tomorrow.

I will be calling the Wooden Angel tomorrow during my drive across the Keystone State; thinking somewhere between 8 to as many as 12 will be along for the dinner. We will need to coordinate drivers. I may attempt to call TG to see if any of his employees would like to become drivers for an evening.

Also targeting leaving the Hampton Inn for the Wooden Angel around 7:15.

Still haven't figured driving time and distance. Somebody get busy! (please)

I agree with Futurist in that tomorrow at the Hampton bar, there should be others hanging around, maybe not even Axionistas, who may want to join us for dinner. Encouraging some schmoozing!

Joer Pic is around 5 feet 6 inches tall and oozes charisma. Bob Avrill stands about 5' 10" and has sandy blonde hair, he's in his late 60s, I think. Rudy Barrio is maybe about the same height or taller, has dark hair and brown eyes, IIRC, probably about 40 or so (don't kill me Rudy if you read this!)

Very much looking forward to sharing some face time with all of you! It's going to be a livelong memory.

So I can't really skedaddle five hours away. I trust you all will have a good time and lift your glasses to a hefty cheer of, "We've got the Power!" Good and loud so spectators might wonder if you are all the Power Ranger's out of costume.

Looking forward to the reports. Have fun!

However, the round trip taxi fare to the Hampton Inn is $100 so it looks like drinks and dinner the night before will not happen for us. I am going to make it to the Hampton Inn in the morning and will catch breakfast with those who find their way downstairs.

I am very much looking forward to meeting the characters I have grown to know this last year...
