  • Apple Should Buy Back Stock 0 comments
    Apr 18, 2013 5:03 AM | about stocks: AAPL

You would have to be living under a rock to not have noticed the violent drop Apple, Inc took during Wednesday's market session. The stock has been slammed this year and the question everyone should be asking is this: With $150 billion in cash why isn't Apple buying back its' stock?

At today's price they could take roughly 42% of the total shares outstanding off the market.

Not to say that they should or will buy back any stock but the question my as well be out there. Right now someone or a group of entities could, in theory, take the company private and pay for a sizable chunk of the purchase with cash on the balance sheet.

There are a number of common sense reasons to like (NASDAQ:AAPL) at anything under $450 (especially where it sits right now at $403.) However the most obvious one is that giant pile of money sitting on the balance sheet.

I would argue that you will never get as good of an investment opportunity as currently exists right now in APPL stock.

Disclosure: I am long AAPL. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from Seeking Alpha). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
