BMW announced on its annual meeting on March 19, that it will enlarge the productivity in China and America, and is planning to build a new factory in China.
The productivity in China will increase from 300,000 to 400,000. BMW plans to enlarge the productivity of a factory in Shenyang together with its partner Brilliance China Automotive Holdings co., LTD. The annual productivity of Shenyang factory will exceed 400,000 by estimation. BMW is building a new engine factory with Brilliance to reduce costs and shorten the gap in sales and profit with Audi. China surpassed America and became the biggest market for BMW in 2013. In 2013, BMW sold 391,713 cars in China, accounting for 17% of its sales around the world.
