  • Alibaba Invested 215 Million USD On Instant Communication App Tango 0 comments

    Mobile chat and call app Tango announced on Mar.20th that it received 280 million USD investment led by Alibaba.

    • Alibaba this time invested 215 million USD on Tango. It is estimated that Alibaba holds 20% to 25% of Tango's equity share. All the rest of the capital in this round of financing comes from Tango's investors at present. Previously Tango received 87 million USD investment from investors including Access Industries, DFJ, Qualcomm Ventures, Toms Capital, Translink Capital, Bill Tai, Shimon Weintraub, Jerry Yang and Alex Zubillaga. Counting in the fund raised in the new round of financing, Tango now has in total 367 million USD venture capital.

    • Tango's registered users have exceeded 200 million. Its co-founder disclosed that its active users per month reached 70 million, and the U.S. is their largest market, contributing 50 million users. Tango has a particularly outstanding market performance in West Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
