    And I'm not talking about the stormy weather of the past 24 hours here...

    In the space of the past half hour I've come across the wrong use of "reign" by two of our more popular authors. 

    Kings and Queens reign.  Goldman Sachs reigns over the banking world (some would say).  BUT, Obama needs to rein in the banks.

    Think of it this way.  Horses.  That's how I remember (maybe because my daughter is a horserider).  Horses have reins.  When you want them to slow down or stop, you pull on the reins. 

    I see the mistake both ways.  Too frequently!
