Today It was announced that THQI would be bringing the Anime/Movie The Last Airbender exclusively to the Nintendo Wii and DS/DSi platforms.
Originally the show The Last Airbender was an animated cartoon airing on Nickelodeon, geared towards a more anime inclined audience. The concept was then picked up by Paramount Pictures and has been developed into a live action screenplay directed by the Famed Six Sense director M. Night Shyamalan.
A brief summary of The Last Airbender Film
Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world.
Hopefully this movie will not be as bad as his last few.
The motion capture of the Wii and the touch screen, stylus driven, drawing action on the DS are meant to mimic the bending skills of the main character. Motions made by players will result in various skills learned by the games protagonist Aang. Gamers are also able to play as Zuko, the games antagonist and the Blue Spirit.
The show has built up a large fan base who is very excited for the theatrical release of the movies and THQI is ready to capitalize on the ensuing frenzy of wild children begging their parents for the game.
