    Significant volume pick-up today with strong upside pressure. Options contracts on the call side are also picking up some interest. Some of the price action could be based on short covering since the JPM deal did not seem to aid the bear's cause much based on its relatively small size and ease of absorption. Also, recent Form 4 filing confirmed that RJ Kirk was large buyer of the secondary . I suspect that FIDO was there in size as well.

    Three things to watch here:

    1) If bull push continues we may see a bit of a squeeze as the short still stands at approx. 8 million shares.

    2) Will JPM (lead on the recent offering) pick up coverage once the "quiet period" is lifted? If so, ZIOP would get exposed to an entirely different universe of investors.

    3) Will ZIOP use ASCO to showcase progress with Intexon platform and/or Dr. Norton's oral programs?

    Not many milestones scheduled over the short term. I expect PICASSO III results (STS-Palifosfamide) to be released late Fall and the company has expressed its intent to begin work on SCLC (Palifosfamide) profram late this year.

  • Well, I guess we will soon see if the speculation concerning a CLDA funds move to ZIOP is correct. Deal is scheduled to close early April.
