With news expected in days with regard results of the Proof of Concept (POC) trials aboard two Maersk vessels, owners of Quadrise Fuels International shares are holding their collective breath.
The much anticipated RNS is expected to confirm the successful completion of preliminary on board trials on at least one of the engines under test (Wartsila). Trials on a Man powered vessel were delayed at the start so at least an update with regard the Man engine is expected.
Successful completion of the POC will signal a significant milestone in the development of this innovative emulsion fuel. The following 4000 hour tests to be run on the two vessels will be substantially completed within 2014 at which stage the marine variant of this emulsion fuel will be ready to be introduced to an expectant shipping industry.
