Contemplating a career change, consider this book.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition is a good resource for people considering a career change. It describes the requirements and pay for a wide variety of occupations, from fishing boat captain to psychologist, as well as the likely growth or shrinkage of employment in each occupation. The BLS predicts continued growth in service jobs and a decline in the number of goods-producing jobs in the decade through 2016. The fastest projected growth is for network systems and data communications analysts. Second-fastest: personal and home care aides.
